Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the International Youth Conference “Global Asia Model United Nations 2025”

On October 28–29, 2025, the International Youth Conference “Global Asia Model United Nations 2025” (GAMUN 2025) is being held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) in Almaty. The conference is dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations.
The event is organized by one of Kazakhstan’s leading universities – Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, widely recognized for its contribution to the development of education, science, and international cooperation. The conference takes place at the Al-Farabi Library in a hybrid format (offline and online) and has brought together more than 150 delegates from various countries around the world.
GAMUN 2025 combines several unique formats – the Model United Nations (Model UN), the Model Congress, and the Model Parliament of Kazakhstan – introduced in Central Asia for the first time. The conference aims to develop leadership, analytical, and diplomatic skills among young people, strengthen international collaboration, and promote innovative approaches to solving global challenges.

The conference’s agenda is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
SDG 4: Quality Education
SDG 5: Gender Equality
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
Over the course of two days, participants are addressing pressing global issues within eight thematic committees that simulate the work of international organizations:
