International Workshop – 2024: “Expanding partnerships for the Goals” organized jointly with Milken Innovation Center – Israel, University of California – Berkley, timed to the UN’s agenda on the issues of climate action, gender equality and 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development, jointly with Milken Innovation Center—Israel and University of California—Berkley, organized workshop timed to the UN’s agenda on the issues of climate action, gender equality, and 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Director of the Milken Innovation Center at the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Studies, senior researcher, and founder of the Financial Innovation Laboratory at the Milken Global Institute, Professor Glenn Yago, made welcoming remarks.

Current research programs in the fields of agriculture, environment, and financing were discussed, as well as the Green Bridge Project and events that are dedicated to the UN agenda. In addition, scientific centers and laboratories were introduced for future partnerships.

Moreover, Professor of the Faculty of International Relations Dr. Leila Delovarova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management Professor Aina Akanovna and faculty staff made presentations.

By the end of the workshop, participants expressed interest in developing joint projects, especially in the field of economic growth, bridging social and economic gaps, and private-sector investment.

It is important to note that, Global Online course on Sustainable Financing and Impact Investing coordinated by Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development is launched for KazNU students. Professors from UC Berkeley, in partnership with the Hebrew University Business School MBA gave lectures on topics of financing and investments within SDGs.
